So this pain-inducing gifset made by actofheroism came up on my dash, and apparently my Loki-feels run my entire life now. So I did a thing. Again. Oops. (You can read meta part one over here)

This parallel hurts me. It kind of proves the point I made in my last rant. The irony of Loki’s current situation (i.e. being imprisoned by his former family) isn’t lost on Loki a bit. He knows what he’s done to himself - he watched himself do it. Like I said before, Loki is his own worst enemy. He screws himself over constantly; gets himself in too deep and over his head, and he refuses to admit it or ask for help. Instead, he owns his mistakes - plays them off as ‘all part of the plan’, when really he is just trying to tread water in the ocean of trouble he’s caused himself. He’s always been self-conscious - he grew up in Thor’s overwhelming shadow, after all - but I think this need to never admit failure is the biggest indication of how lost and desperate Loki is.
